Government Affairs / Military Affairs / Education Committee
The El Segundo Chamber's Government Affairs / Military Affairs / Education Committee combines three areas of importance to both our business community and residential community in one efficient committee. This group meets monthly on the third Monday of each month at the Chevron El Segundo Refinery Board Room at 11:30am. This group is made up of business leaders from both Fortune 500 companies and small business owners, local elected officials, school district representatives as well as elected official representatives from Sacramento and Washington DC. To attend this meeting, RSVPs to the Chamber at 310/322-1220 are required as well as government issued identification.
For updates regarding our City Council or the Government Affairs Committee, be sure to sign-up for our electronic newsletters (on the Home page of this site). You will receive the "Issue Watch" which is used to communicate important matters such as items coming before the City Council and issues that may impact your business. ISSUE WATCH is only sent to your in-box when there is an upcoming topic that may be of importance to your business.
Working to create effective partnerships between the business and education communities, the Chamber's Education Committee coordinates the annual New Teacher Welcome Bags for El Segundo Unified School District, Wiseburn Unified School District, DaVinci, Vista Mar and St. Anthony Schools. This program welcomes the new teachers into our community and helps to make them aware of the wonderful businesses in El Segundo. Chamber members can participate in this program by simply completing the form that is e-mailed each August (as well as included on the website) and donating the number of items requested each year.
